Fredericksburg Community Orchestras to host premier Summer Music Institute June 23-27

This summer, Fredericksburg Community Orchestras is hosting its premier Fredericksburg Summer Music Institute from June 23-27, 2026, with nightly concerts that are free and open to the public.

The inaugural Fredericksburg Summer Music Institute will attract visiting artists and advanced college students and artist faculty to spend a week in the Hill Country conducting master classes, workshops, and public performances, according to festival organizer and FCO Executive Director Theresa Britt.

“The mission of FSMI is to provide an enriching environment for promising collegiate musicians to learn, collaborate, and perform with experienced artist faculty,” Britt said. “We also hope to enrich the fabric of our local community by offering high level symphonic and chamber music performances.”

The performance schedule and locations are as follows:

June 23–Music of the Trio Aurora & String Faculty, St. Joseph’s Halle

June 24–Woodwinds & Brass, Rockbox Theater

June 25–Soloists in the Spotlight, St. Joseph’s Halle

June 26–Chamber Music, Rockbox Theater

June 27–Summer Music in the Hills Symphonic Concert finale, St. Joseph’s Halle

All concerts begin at 7 p.m.

General Admission tickets are free, but must be reserved in advance by visiting fbgsummermusic.com. A limited number of Reserved Front Row Seats are available for $25. All seating is limited. Free street parking is available.
