L. H. Creamer and Sons have added a new 12-passenger Buick bus on their Eastland-San Antonio route. Mr. and Mrs. Creamer went to Loudenville, O., 1400 miles from here to get this new car. They drove the car home so that it would be broken in to begin its daily schedule run.
E. E. Risien has decorated the east show window of the Harris Grocery. Pecan halves, cedar wigs, a pepper bush, and a mounted squirrel form an attractive display.
Mac's Cafe has installed an electric player piano to entertain their patrons during meal time. This instrument plays six tunes and has an accompaniment of several other instruments, all automatically played with the piano.
The Richland Springs State Bank was robbed yesterday at 12:30 of about $1200 when two unmasked men entered the bank and forced the bookkeeper and one customer into the vault. One of the men was young and the other one a heavy weight middle aged man. The started toward San Saba in a car after the robbery. All authorities in ad joining towns were immediately notified. Eugene Prather, cashier of the bank, was at lunch when the robbery took place.

Dear Santa Claus: I am a little boy six years old and my little brother is one year old and we are very good little boys. I saw you in town last Christmas but didn't get to speak to you. I am afraid you are going to have a muddy trip this year it is raining so much but little Billie and I would like for you to please bring us these pretties. James Hicks has received the papers on his Beagle pups, Judy Bess and Sam, which he purchased from John Mathews of Lampasas.
Mr. and Mrs. Terrell Warlick and Kalvin of Waco have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Buck Millican. The men folks have been getting in some coon hunting.
At a regular meeting of the San Saba County Commissioners Court last week, Dr. R. C. Felts was named to serve as county health officer for the unexpired term of Dr. F. W. Farley, who resigned. Dr. Farley is serving as the City Health Officer and was unable to serve in both positions.
RCT. Joe C. Lackey, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Lackey, volunteered his services to the United States Army and on Oct. 29 he entered basic training at Fort Carson, Colo. He was a member of the 1958 graduating class. His family is expecting him home on leave for the Christmas holidays.
Larry Brown of Ft. Worth is on vacation and is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brown. He has been down sight-seeing in Old Mexico and was present at the inauguration of the new president of Mexico.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Badillo of Bend have announced the birth of a son, Thomas Jr., seven pounds, born in the San Saba Memorial Hospital on Dec. 13. They have three other children, all girls, including Yolanda, three years old; Belinda, who is two years old; and Mary Lou, only one year old. Badillo words for Edmund Henniger. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Badillo of Tipton, Okla.; and maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Alcarao Aleman of Falfurrias.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Amelia Cowan has unselfishly given of her time, energy and ability to make this community a better place in which to live.
NOW THEREFORE, I , Harry Shapiro, Mayor of San Saba, Texas, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do declare Sunday, December 21st, 1958, AMELIA COWAN DAY in San Saba, Texas.
