Our Creator

While walking the other day, Garland Cross made an observation. He said, “The birds this morning are really singing.” And they were. Later in that day, there was some thunder heard nearby. We did not get any rain (at least at my house), but we did get the noise and the threat of some rough weather.

As I thought of these things the rest of the day, I was thinking about the Creator of all things, our God. He has given us the beauty in the skies. The blue sky with the white clouds bring a smile to our faces. The flowers that are now in bloom cause us to enjoy the aroma and the beauty of a Mastermind. When we see a rainbow in the sky, we think of God and His promise made to Noah so many years ago.

It was David who said, “The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” (Psalm 19:1, NASB) We must always remember that it was our God in heaven who gives us all of the things that are so important to us. He continues to shower wonderful blessings on His creation.

During the days of the Apostle Peter, there were some who doubted God. In 2 Peter, as he warns about false teachers, we hear them saying, (3) “Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, (4) and saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation." (5) For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, (6) through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.” (3:3-6)

We must never forget the One who gives us all things as they were doing in Peter’s day. We must never doubt that our God is still on the throne and ruling the world in which we live. James tells us in James 1:17, “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.”

Let’s praise God for all of the wonderful blessings He continues to give us. Let’s always remember to give Him thanks for His gifts. And let’s always know that even as we go through trials in our lives, He is still there. And let’s turn to Him for our help.
