When I was a child, I thought it would take forever for some things to happen. I couldn’t wait till I was 16 because then I would be able to drive a car. Eighteen would be better as I would be out of school. Twenty-one took about 10 years (or at least it seemed like it) and I could do even more things that you had to be a certain age to do them. All through my life there have been different things that seemed as though they would take forever, and now I can’t seem to slow them down.

I realize that there are still the same amount of seconds, minutes and hours today as when I was younger, but it sure seems different.

In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon said there is a time for everything (3:1-8,) “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven— 2. A time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. 3. A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up. 4. A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance. 5. A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing. 6. A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away. 7. A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to be silent and a time to speak. 8. A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace.” This is a long list, but it covers every area of our lives that are important.

When we’re younger, we can’t wait to get older, and now that we are older, there are times we want to be younger. Our God has a plan for all of our lives. That plan is recorded for us in the Bible that the Holy Spirit inspired men to write. We can read it and study it to find out the great truths for our lives.

For those who are younger that are reading this, enjoy every moment and don’t try to rush things. For those who are older, realize that when we are giving our lives to God, we have something better to live for. Heaven is a place where all pain will be taken away, there'll be no more tears, and time will stand still forever. Now, I can hardly wait.
