He was a commercial pilot and had many hours of flying time but was trying to learn how to fly a different type of airplane. Every airplane flies differently, and before you can fly it, you must carefully study the flight manuals and be trained for it. The instructors were concerned because he wasn’t listening or paying attention to them. He thought you could just get in it and go, and everything would turn out alright. He purchased a new airplane that could land on water or land.
I completed flight school and returned home, but a month later, I went by the airport, and there scattered on the hanger floor was the wreckage of that beautiful new airplane. I asked the instructors what happened. They said he didn’t pay attention to them and while flying that airplane got into trouble and crashed.
That incident reminds of how many people try to live their lives today. They go through life and pay no attention to the things of God and think everything is going to come out wonderfully. They do not have God in the picture and do not take time to read and study the Bible carefully, (Luke 11:28, 2 Timothy 3:15). If we fail to respect God and obey His Word, rest assured - a crash is coming, and we will not survive, (John 3:16-20, Isaiah 30:9, Revelation 22:14 &15). See you in Church next Sunday.
