Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor, Big Creek Construction, LTD., is currently performing a preventative maintenance project on US 190 in Lampasas County that includes the installation of passing lane and safety improvements. This project extends from the San Saba County Line to US 183 in Lampasas County.
The first phase of the project, clearing brush and performing concrete work in the right of way and installing safety end treatments to culverts, began October 2022. This culvert work is expected to be finished in less than a month. The bridge rail and guardrail at the Colorado River and Antelope Creek has been completed.
Crews are now working to widen the westbound passing lane. Work is anticipated to be completed by August 2023, weather and other unforeseen delays permitting.
Motorists are reminded to use caution when driving in this area, avoid distractions, and watch for equipment and crews entering/ exiting the roadway.
