A total of 29 cases as of Monday morning, August 3, have been identified in our county since we first detected a case in May of this year.
There has been a small down-turn in the number of cases of COVID-19 in the Hill Country region since mid-July, but it’s too soon to know if this is a trend or just a temporary decrease. In San Saba County, the trend looks like this:
Information is still being gathered for the end of July and early August, so those numbers are not available as of yet. Nonetheless, these numbers indicate that COVID-19 is increasing in our county.
Until we have an effective, safe vaccine or treatment for COVID-19, the importance of physical distance, hand washing and wearing a mask to protect yourself and your fellow citizens cannot be over emphasized,.
Information on Testing:
Brownwood, Texas, will be having a Mobile Testing Site next Wednesday, August 12. This will be held at the Coggin Intermediate School parking lot. The link is <www.tdem. texas.gov>, and the scheduling will become active 24 hours prior to the start of the testing! They are saying : you do NOT have to have symptoms, they will NOT test anyone under the age of 5, and they are requesting that you DO NOT eat or drink anything for 20 minutes prior to your testing appointment.
