Our COVID-19 numbers have spiked, and unfortunately the majority of the increase is in our nursing home. Please include all affected in your prayers and especially those that reside in and staff that facility.
We continue to request your help in reducing the spread of this virus and to help protect our most vulnerable populations, such as seniors and those with chronic medical conditions. The best preventive actions are maintaining social distance (a distance of six feet between yourself and others and wearing a mask when that cannot be accomplished).
There is a rumor going around town that my wife and I are thinking about leaving San Saba, and I wonder if I may have been the one that inadvertently started that rumor. I will confess that when I agreed to and authorized the severe pruning of the pecan trees around the courthouse, as recommended by the experts, I expressed my plan that if those trees didn’t survive their haircut, I was leaving town some dark midnight. So, I would like to draw your attention specifically to the pecan trees in the fantastic drone photo attached. Notice the healthy trees? Bad News! You guys are stuck with us. We love San Saba County and the people around us, and we are not going anywhere.
