For over 35 years, HCTC has supported the youth of the Texas Hill Country through their continual support of junior livestock shows.
Children from various counties spend countless hours raising and caring for their livestock all in the hopes of catching the eye of a high bidder and auctioning off their prize animal. Junior livestock shows allow youth to learn the values of perseverance, resiliency, healthy competition and responsibility.
Each year, HCTC’s board of directors participate in eight different livestock shows in a widespread, continual support of our future generations and to help cover the costs students incur raising their animals.
“HCTC is proud to champion our local youth through participation and financial contributions at livestock shows throughout our service territory. The success of our youth has a direct impact on the success of our local communities, and we’re proud to contribute to these important endeavors,” said Kari Potter, HCTC board president.
HCTC currently provides internet and phone service to customers in 15 counties covering over 3,000 square miles of the Hill Country.
“HCTC has had a longwithstanding history of supporting the communities in which we live,” said Breanna Larsen, manager of marketing and public relations. “It is part of our mission and vision to support our members not only in the services we provide, but by being the best neighbors we can be and supporting the causes they are passionate about as well”.
