I recall the time I was by myself when my pick-up broke down on a seldom traveled road. It was a nice afternoon and after walking a good distance I stopped to look back. I could see clearly the road that I had traveled. But when I turned around to see where I was going I could not see very far ahead or tell what the road had in store for me. Traveling down that road reminds me of what we face in life. We may see the past, but we have no idea what the future has in store for us.
This past year there have been many blessings in our lives, our family and others we know. There have also been some setbacks in our lives but also with many people we know. Many struggling with major health issues, stage 4 cancer and yes, there were even some funerals.
What can we do and where can we find hope and meaning to life in our troubled world? We can look to God! When we include Him in our lives, we are not alone, (Matthew 6:32&33). He will not abandon us, (Hebrews 13:5&6). He will be with us even into eternity, (Proverbs 3:5-8, Psalms 37:4&5, John 14:1-3)). As we close out 2025 and bring in 2026 May we take some time to reflect on the blessings of God this past year, (John 3:16) and look to Him for our future.
See you in Church next Sunday.
