Receipts totaled 1,394 head with no sale being held in Mason on Monday due to the Memorial Day Holiday. Demand was very strong with a lot of activity. The futures board and the fat cattle trade continued to move higher this week which helped the stocker and feeder market move up. Stocker steers were $10-$15 higher with 3 steers 515 lbs at
$267.00 ($1375.05). Stocker heifers were $5-$10 higher with
3 heifers 533 lbs at $232.00
($1236.56). Feeder steers were
$8 higher, and feeder heifers were $4-$5 higher with 9 heifers
978 lbs at $166.00 ($1623.48). Packer cows were $3-$4 higher, and bulls were steady. Pairs and bred cows were steady and in good demand.
