CASA needs volunteers!

How could you help?

CASA for the Highland Lakes Area serves children who have been removed from their homes as a result of abuse and/or neglect. They are now in a temporary living situation with either foster parents or relatives who are willing to help while the parents are working services with the ultimate result of reuniting with their children. Some members of your congregation or social groups may find that being a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is just the service to their community they have been looking for. What counties does CASA serve, and why is the need so great?

CASA for the Highland Lakes Area serves Burnet, Blanco, Lampasas, Llano and San Saba counties.

The number of children we serve has steadily increased over the last five years. And the number of volunteers has decreased. Since we have had such a dramatic decrease in the number of volunteers, we currently have 61 children without their very own CASA. Our goal is to recruit and train an additional 15 volunteers before the end of 2022.
