After an absence of several months, the bloodmobile will be in Cherokee at the Cherokee Church of Christ, on July 30th from 12:00 p.m. till 4:00 p.m. The Church of Christ is located on Highway 16. There will be some changes made because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first is that you need to call the blood bank at 254-724-4376 or go online to BSWBlood.com to make an appointment.

Upon arriving, you can register and will then be allowed in, or, if there is not room, you will be asked to wait in your vehicle until they are ready to take your blood. Only a certain number of people will be allowed on the bus at one time. Also, while on the bus, you will be required to wear a mask.

You must be at least 17 years of age, weight at least 110 pounds and have a photo ID to give blood.

Should you be taking medications of any kind (with the exception of blood thinners or antibiotics) you may be able to give blood. When you call to make your appointment you can tell them what medication you may be taking, and they may be able to tell if you can give.

Please take the time to immediately call or go online to make your reservation to donate. All types of blood are needed at this time as those donating are not as many as before the pandemic. You may be saving a life as you give. Every two seconds someone needs blood. Please help! And thank you in advance for caring enough to give.
