Amy Fisher Stencil of San Saba has been awarded NASA’s second highest achievement award, the Exceptional Service Medal. She manages the technical side of both the Boeing International Space Station (ISS) Sustaining Contract and the Axiom Space Port Contract. The Boeing contract is essentially responsible for keeping the ISS operating correctly, and Axiom is a relatively new commercial contract that will build an additional ‘space station segment’ to attach with ISS. Amy has worked for the ISS Program since 1994.
Amy is the daughter of Joe and Betty Fisher, wife of Craig Stencil and mother of Jefferson Stencil. Though not from San Saba, they all got here as fast as they could.
