Local Minister to Deliver Message
The American Legion Post of San Saba will meet and hold a prayer brunch beginning 10:30 a.m. at Napoli’s Restaurant on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30th. David Easlon, of the San Saba Church of Christ 2nd & Wallace, will present the program. Veterans are responsible for the purchase of their own meal.
Easlon was hired in October of 2020 as the minister for the Second and Wallace congregation. Born in Abilene, Texas, in 1986, he was raised in Odessa where he graduated from high school in 2005. After graduation, he attended Freed-Hardeman University and University of Texas of the Permian Basin while working in the oil field business. He graduated with a bachelor’s in communication (minor in history) in 2014.
After college, David began preaching part time in Iraan, Texas. He met Kayla Lawrence at the Church of Christ Pecos River Encampment. In 2014, the couple were married and now have one girl named Addilyn.
Local Students to be Recognized
Special guests invited to the breakfast are local students at San Saba High School. Wesley Nolan Lackey will be recognized for his American Legion Scholarship, and Jaxzen Coy Mask will be recognized for his commitment to attend the upcoming 2022 American Legion Boys State. Dana Luna, Karlee Reed, Angel Gil-Vega, and Adan Huron will be entering the US Navy after graduation.
Reminder to Utilize Flag Drop Box
Located at the public library and the police department, the used flag drop box is available to the public. All worn or used flags are encouraged to be placed in the box for proper disposal. Boy Scout Troop No. 55 of San Saba is responsible for the honorable retirement of the flags.
