There were 22 people that attended the meeting of the Wiley B. Murray Post No. 27 on January 11th. Two new veterans were voted into the post membership, Angela Tinney and Kody Morris. Angela served as a trauma nurse in the US Air Force and is employed at San Saba High School. Kody is retired from the US Army and is the foreman at Jacob Stone Products. The post meets quarterly, and its next meeting will be on Monday, May 27th, on Memorial Day (TBA). All veterans are invited to attend.
The inside of the meeting hall now has a fresh new coat of paint. The post is now working to rehang the various items back on the wall to include some new historical exhibits. After that is accomplished, the Senior Citizen Center will reinstall its exhibits. Both the post and the center share the same meeting side of the building.
After the business meeting, the program was given by Jamie Hunt of the Hill County Community Action Association (HCCAA). Jamie is a 2005 graduate of San Saba High School, is married with three children. She spoke on the mission of the HCCAA and programs offered to the public.
