When I was getting prepared to write this article today Winfield Basham called me from Cleburne, Texas. He is planning the annual Hunting with Soldiers on Saturday, January 8th, in San Saba county. It was not held last year because of Covid and it will be difficult for him this year because my husband Larry helped him organize this for years and I gave a report in the San Saba News & Star. Larry died on 11-22-20, and I moved to Ohio 5-17-21. Winfield called Bill Jones for his help and found out that he was ill, so we are praying for his complete recovery.

I attended Sam Purtee's graveside service Saturday that was approximately 20 minutes from where I live. I wore a hat that Linda Purtee (Sam's wife who died around 13 years ago) crocheted and gave me. She learned how to make the hats from a woman from Cherokee who sold them at Trade Days in San Saba.

I saw Martha Long's obit in the paper last week. I remember interviewing her for the San Saba News & Star and enjoyed meeting her and seeing the trophies and ribbons.

My Texas car plates will expire tomorrow, November 30th. I got my driver license on 8-20-21 and filled out information at that time for car plates but have not heard from them to complete the transaction. I like my Texas plates, KJV 6311 (King James Version) because when I park at large parking lots here in Zanesville sometimes I forget where I'm parked. There's a lot of grey cars but only mine with Texas KJV - that I'm glad to find.

Car license plates reminds me of when I had a temporary job during the yearly renewal time in Millersburg, Ohio. On the application I asked them their occupation, and one time a man said 'a mason.' I responded that I didn't want the organization but his occupation. He laughed and explained his occupation. My husband Larry laughed also when I told him, and I found out he was a mason many times.

Because of the world situation at this time I chose to end my article with I Timothy 6:18-19..... Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the age to come.
