Alice in Wonder Land

I have such joy in my heart as I look back at this past week. The coffee table that I ordered in July finally arrived on Tuesday, and I love it. My special longtime friends from Pennsylvania arrived Wednesday afternoon 30 minutes before an unscheduled dentist appointment because of infection and a cracked tooth. The tooth had to be extracted, so I did not feel like going out to eat with my friends. So Bill and Jenny were able to go and enjoyed visiting with them. When they heard of my dental issues, they suggested to go to Holmes County where they used to live and visit there and come back. I told them how wonderful it was to have them to 'hold my hand' and not be by myself during this time, and besides misery loves company! We shared heart aches, hopes, joy's and God's abundant mercy, grace and love. They left Friday morning and headed to Holmes County before going back to Pennsylvania. My niece, Tina, came at 11:00, and we went to a nearby restaurant where I ate soup and enjoyed being with her to tell about my friends' visit.

I listened to the OSU Buckeyes game Saturday evening on the radio. They won BIG, 54-7, Yeah! Sunday morning, I went to church at 8:45 for a Foundations For Life meeting for prospective members. The class was canceled because the leader had pinkeye, so I attended the early service at 9:00. After the service, I called my dear friends, Todd and Zeta, and told them I was on my way to the service at their home church. After the service, we went to Somerset and ate at a restaurant where Larry and I ate many times.

Two weeks ago, I found a letter that Darrel had sent to Larry around 45 years ago. So I gave it to him along with a book that I thought he would enjoy that I read given to me by Charlotte Berryhill by her great-grandfather, Mr. Landers (or grandfather). I had Darrel check my coffee table, and he verified that it was not wood. He graduated from the Lumber Inspection School in Memphis, Tennessee, where Larry went, so I knew he knows wood. Todd and Zeta have flooring that is made from old tires that looks like wood. I have flooring that looks like wood but isn't. It is good to see that recycling is being very useful.

I will end with words from a song playing on the radio just now. 'All my life You have been faithful. All my life You have been so, so, good......With every breath that I am able, oh I will sing of the goodness of God!'
