Alice in Wonder Land

My husband Larry (died 2020) and I knew that we needed to move to Texas to be closer to mission work in Mexico. We sold the little country church, Asbury Chapel, at Hopewell, Ohio, that Larry pastored. By internet, we put an offer on a church for sale in Burnet, Texas, that was rejected. We responded with the full price, but it was taken off the market. A church in San Saba was for sale that we offered the asking price, and we bought it. We knew that San Saba, Texas, was where God wanted us to live.

When we moved to San Saba in 2006, Larry went to Mexico to complete the building of a Bible Training School in San Fernando, Mexico. God gave him the ability to be a builder. He planned and built two saw-mill's for Hipp Lumber Co. in Millersburg, Ohio, and went into business with his brother Joe and built a sawmill at Gratiot, Ohio. I believe that what he liked best to build was deer stands. In the San Saba area, he made deer stands/blinds on Childress land, Lowe's, Riggs and several others. In Ohio, he built one for me in the woods behind the sawmill that was around 12 ft. tall and had a roof. I climbed up to hunt and found baby mice in the cushion of the chair! I did not expect to see baby mice that ruined my plan to hunt. In life, there are things that happen that we do not plan.

Psalm 46:1 & 2a...NIV... God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear.
