Last May, I attended a motherdaughter banquet in Newark, Ohio, with my daughter Jenny. At the end of the banquet they gave the lovely potted flowers that decorated the tables to women whose name they drew. My name was drawn, and I enjoyed seeing it bloom outside and brought it inside the end of October. It had blooms until last week, but the leaves are bright green. I will keep watering it and see if it will sprout again. Flowers represent life and beauty.

The pastors of Northgate Church Dresden in Dresden, Ohio, where I attend were in an automobile accident last Wednesday evening. Pastors Mike and Melody were on their way to church when a driver, passing a car on a double yellow line, hit them head on. Melody was treated and released from the hospital Wednesday evening, and Mike had surgery on a broken thigh bone. They are recuperating at home thanking God for protecting them. I was part of hundreds of people praying for our precious pastors.

I found some notes from one of my husband Larry's sermons in his Bible of the 22 verses of Psalm 33. He related verse 16 as 'safety in God's protection in Mexico'. I am relating Psalm 33:18-22.. NIV...to the accident: But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the Lord, He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His Holy Name. May Your unfailing Love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You.
