When I attended the monthly 1959 Classmates luncheon in Dresden, Ohio, on June 6th, it was shared that our classmate John Longaberger would not be at the luncheon because he died. I attended his memorial service on Friday, June 9th. In 1958, I dated John's wife's brother, Rodney. He was at the funeral so I talked with him and we shared some old memories. Rodney's wife was out of town so I did not meet her but met his son. I could see that his son had this grin that meant he couldn't wait to tell his mother about his dad's 'old girlfriend'. God had other plans for me when my sister Betty told me to “chase Larry Smith around the block”. I did just that and thankful for 58 years to this wonderful mate.

Every morning I turn my radio to FM 89.3 and listen to The River. They play music that I remember the choir at the women's prison in San Saba singing when I was director, the Praise and Worship music at The Fathers House in San Saba and Northgate Church in Dresden, Ohio.

Music is a BIG part of life because there are songs about everything. Songs for funerals, weddings, churches, birthdays, Armed Forces, countries, schools, contests, entertainers, recordings, radio and etc. King David wrote about a time of remembrance and blessing in Psalms 126:1-3....When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing; then said they among the nations, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us, whereof we are glad....King James version.

The Lord will always do great things for us – He is for us and not against us when we are happy, sad, in remembrance, etc., so dance to the music or not......
