Alice in Wonder Land

I reported last week that my sister in-law is recovering from a fractured hip. Today, when I talked to her, she said she is doing well. “Praise The Lord!”

Sunday after church, I ate lunch at a restaurant, walked Ellie when I got home and watched my favorite show made in Canada about a ranch family. The ranch family is adjusting after the mother died rescuing a horse. Her youngest daughter married a veterinarian, and they are expecting a baby. Sunday's episode showed the veterinarian in a coma at a hospital after an accident. When he coded, it showed him going into a house where his deceased father's voice told him he was worthless and was going to die and was welcome to be with him. The son said he wanted to live and be a good father to his son because he didn't have a good father. Then he told his father, 'I forgive you.' At that moment his pulse became regular on the machine and he is recovering. Everyone rejoiced and cried, including me. I recall sermons by my husband Larry about forgiveness and how important it is. Families and friends become separated because of disputes or discussions that ended badly. Even if it's not possible to be with the person you want to forgive (like the program I referred to), just tell God, and He will take care of it.

I talked to a rancher friend in Texas, and he described the dire conditions there because of the drought. He is trusting God to 'get him through' and make decisions or changes.

How wonderful it was to get a call from Connie Saturday. She sat behind Larry and I in church, and Larry did some work at her house. I was happy to be able to text back and forth with Audrey. A talk with Marsha Sunday evening got me up-to-date on friends and events in San Saba, and exchanging emails with Donna at The San Saba News & Star makes me feel like I am closer than five or six states away.

Sing with me........Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His Glory and Grace.
