I talked with the San Saba News editor, Donna, about writing a column after moving from San Saba, Texas to Zanesville, Ohio. I selected Alice in Wonder Land as the title because one of the definitions of wonder is: The feeling excited by something marvelous, strange or not understood; astonishment. The definition for wonder land: A land filled with wonders. These definitions are how God has directed my life.
I did not feel wonderful leaving my home at 1780 N. Hwy 16, San Saba, Texas on Monday, May 17th, where my beloved husband, Larry, and I lived since 2010. Larry died on November 22, 2020 and my life changed drastically.
Here I am at my condo in Zanesville, Ohio, among unpacked boxes waiting for furniture. The Covid virus has had an impact on stores having an inventory. I am fortunate, no. . . blessed by God to have furniture being delivered next week. Before the move, my son-in-law, Bill, measured my rooms and drew by scale on paper and we placed furniture. Well, I have changed everything! Bill will be coming to hang pictures, so I need to have them ready because he will say “No changes!”
I want this to be a weekly column because it will be good therapy for me. If Herman, the happy dog, can do this. . . so can I! One of the first things I do is read his column. Lindy, I am praying for you and thankful you are recovering after your stay in the hospital.
My computer is not set up yet, so this has been handwritten and mailed on Thursday, June 3rd, ready for Dejuana to type and think of me.
Until next week, God is great and greatly to be praised!
