2023 San Saba County Young Farmers Livestock Show

The 2023 San Saba County Livestock Show kicked off January 4th as show cattle moved into the barn. Over the next three days, youth exhibitors from San Saba County along with their ag teach-ers, extension agent, and parents prepared 95 head of steers, heifers, pigs, sheep and goats that they have been raising for months to be presented to show.

Judges commented that although the numbers were low on some species, the quality was extremely good. Hard work paid off for our Champions and Champion showmen listed below, but even more special was the retirement of two rotating trophies.

These trophies are donated in memory of community members who have long been invested in the youth of agriculture. An exhibitor must win the trophy three years in a row to retire it.

Jace Stewardson got a big hug as he retired the Champion Heifer trophy donated in memory of Darel and Lorena Terry, and the Lusty family was honored to present Bryli Edmonson with the retirement of the Grand Champion Lamb trophy in Memory of Madea Wynn Lusty
