Common Scams to Watch For:
• Impersonation Scams: Scammers posing as law enforcement, IRS, or utility companies demanding payment.
• Phishing Emails/Texts: Fake messages asking for personal info or clicking suspicious links.
• Prize/Lottery Scams: Claims you’ve won a prize—but you need to pay fees to claim it.
• Tech Support Scams: Calls or pop-ups claiming your device has a virus, asking for remote access.
Remember:
• The Sheriff's Office will NEVER call you to demand payment or threaten arrest.
• Don’t give out personal information over the phone, via email, or text to unverified sources.
• Verify any suspicious calls or messages by contacting the organization directly.
