San Saba Powerlifting hosts annual meet

The San Saba High School girls and boys varsity powerlifting teams were in action on Thursday, January 20, as the Lady Dillos and Dillos hosted the annual San Saba Powerlifting Invitational.

Lady Dillos

The Lady Dillos had a small dual meet with Llano High School. In the 104-pound division, Makinzey Saldivar placed first with 540 pounds lifted as she squatted 210, bench pressed 135 and deadlifted 195.

In the 114-pound division, Leslie Aguirre also came in first place with 590 pounds lifted as she squatted 225, bench pressed 105, and deadlifted 260.

San Saba also had another first-place finisher for the girls in the 220-pound division as Austyn Graham lifted a whopping 850 pounds with 375 on the squat, 200 on the bench press, and 275 on the deadlift.

Dillos

As for the boys, they competed in a small tri-meet with lifters from Llano as well as Burnet High School in attendance.

Acey Mask was the winner in the 114-pound division with 525 pounds lifted, Justin Hernandez in first place in the 123-pound division with 675 pounds lifted, Winton Lackey the winner in the 132-pound division with 750 pounds lifted, Adan Huron in first place in the 148-pound division with 945 pounds lifted, and Leonel Aranda the winner of the 198-pound division with 1,015 pounds lifted.
