  • In case you ever wondered how to make sure everyone knows the park is only open to foot traffic and NOT to vehicles, this way leaves no doubt.

People really will be talking about this for years to come. You see articles and YouTube videos talking about the rarity of the Total Solar Eclipse that occurred on April 8, 2024. I'm sure you can still find T-shirts and eclipse merchandise to purchase. The event will be something you tell your kids, grandkids, and generations to come.

No one knew exactly how many visitors would come to San Saba. There was no way to even guess. So many variables were in play.

Even so, the City of San Saba and San Saba County were ready! Porta Potties were sprinkled around town, and instructional signs were out. We were ready!

We asked to hear about your eclipse experiences on our Facebook page. Here are some things that were shared with us.

How many states or countries did you see represented?

Sara Walters

I had people stay at my place from 10 different states and one couple from out of country.

The couple who came in from Malaysia, he actually proposed to her during the eclipse.

Robyn Dial

I met a woman from California who had run into an old friend from Oregon. Neither knew the other was coming to San Saba.

Jack N Sandra Vaughn

At least 15 or more!!! And all very nice people and they were all so impressed with our small town and its people!!!!

Tell us about your Eclipse Experience!

Jill Bunn - from Gulf Shores Alabama

We enjoyed San Saba so much.

Shelley Sobieralski Broaddus
