Rotary Club February Student of the Month

Rotary February Student-of-the-Month was awarded to Cinzlea Stanton.Each month, a different senior is awarded. Awards are based on leadership, character, and teacher nominations. They receive a certificate and are invited to a luncheon with the Rotarians.

Receipts totaled 2,111 head for the week. The market continued to be very active with good demand again this week. The stocker steers were steady after last week’s increases with 2 steers 503 lbs $400.00 ($2012.00) and 10 steers 624 lbs $330.00 ($2059.20).

Many of you read the “First Impressions Last” article in our weekly digital newsletter last Friday and saw some photos of the work being done at the Mill Pond Park Wallace Street entrance.

Burn Ban in effect - San Saba County

The burn ban was implemented on March 5, 2025 by order of the Commissioners Court and by unanimous vote this past Monday, March 10, 2025, was extended another 30 days. The Court will review it again at that time.

How much damage can wind cause?

We were warned the winds would be strong during the day on Monday, March 3rd, but I don't think many expected all the damage from the storm the night before as we were in the "slight risk" area on the weather map for the front coming through central Texas.
