Upcoming Events

The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will close at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 18th. The Disaster Operations Center (DOC) with only FEMA and SBA will open (same location) on Tuesday, August 19th at 9 a.m. through Friday, August 25th (only Mondays through Fridays 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.)

Wallace Street Trader’s Market - Saturday, August 9th, has been CANCELLED. Their monthly events are cancelled until further notice.

Commissioners Court meeting - 9 a.m. on August 25th at San Saba Courthouse, 2nd floor, in the Commissioners Courtroom. Public is welcome.

Richland Springs Preservation Society - The next regular meeting is August 24th. Community Potluck will be Sunday, August 24th.

Pecan Capital Trade Days - will begin September 13th, and will happen the 2nd Saturday of the month through December. Courthouse square from 10-2 p.m. Vendors needed. Please contact Joan or Don VanGorp at 325-372-1937.

Ongoing Weekly Meetings

The BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) San Saba Satellite Discussion Group Women’s Day and Evening class begins the 2025-2026 study: Exile and Return: A time to Build on Thursday, September 11th. Dayclass is from 9:30-11:00 and evening class is from 6:00-7:30 at First Baptist Church San Saba. Come join us. Learn ore at bsfinternational.org.

San Saba County Historical Museum - open every weekend. It will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 to 4:00 through October and by appointment.

Lunch at Senior Center - Monday -Friday at noon. Suggested donation: $3 for 60 and over; $7.25 for under 60. Call 325-372-5833 for reservations. Every Friday, there is Bingo at 11 a.m.

San Saba Rotary - Meets at noon on Thursdays (except in July). Please ask any Rotarian or email rotarysstx@gmail.com for more information on meetings, events and times as they may vary. Our motto is Service Above Self!

Men’s Prayer Breakfast - Meet on the second Saturday of the month at 7:00 a.m. under the Tabernacle in Richland Springs.

The San Saba River City Band - meets every 3rd Monday at 6:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hall, 601 West Dry St. For information call Bill Grusendorf at 372-5821.

San Saba County Historical Commission - meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Rylander Library beginning at 1:00 p.m. Their meetings are open to all who are interested in San Saba County history.

San Saba Garden Club meetings - The Club normally, meets at 2:00 p.m. the first Tuesday, September - May, at the Historic Mill Pond Building (unless otherwise announced), 1107 East Commerce. Prospective members warmly welcomed. For more information, contact Debbie Shahan at 325-372-5635.

Central Texas Food Bank - San Saba County food distribution to people on the 4th Wednesday of the month, at San Saba’s Civic Center from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Please call the Hotline at 800786-2616 to check if inclement weather or holidays will affect the normal schedule.
