Shaffer promoted to leadership role
The Texas Department of Transportation’s Brownwood District announces the appointment of Keith Shaffer as the maintenance section supervisor for San Saba County.
In this position, Shaffer oversees TxDOT’s maintenance and emergency management activities on 216 centerline miles of state maintained roadways in San Saba County, including important trade corridors such as US Highway 190 and State Highway 16. Shaffer supervises a staff of 10 employees based at this TxDOT facility.
Shaffer has been employed with TxDOT’s San Saba County Maintenance Section for 10 Years and has worked his way up from Maintenance Tech I & II positions to assistant supervisor before most recently serving as the interim county maintenance section supervisor. Shaffer began his new role March 5, 2021. He enjoys the day to day challenges of maintaining and keeping the roadways safe for the traveling public.
After graduating from Llano High School, Shaffer obtained his bachelors and masters degrees in animal and range science from Angelo State University. He and his wife Gina have been married for 20 years and have three sons and two daughters. Shaffer enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time with family.
TxDOT’s Brownwood District includes Brown, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Lampasas, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba and Stephens counties.
