SSCFOA - Calling all animal lovers

San Saba County Friends of Animals

San Saba County Friends of Animals is facing a challenge we never imagined this early. Our new rescue facility isn't even officially open to the public yet, but we are already caring for 21 dogs and 47 cats.

Every one of those animals depends on volunteers. They need fresh food and water, clean kennels and litter boxes, exercise, socialization, laundry, dishes, medications, and, most importantly, love. While the public sees happy adoption photos, there are countless hours of work behind the scenes that make those success stories possible.

Right now, our small group of dedicated volunteers is doing everything they can to keep up, but the workload has become overwhelming. Many of them are working every day without a break because there simply aren't enough hands to help.

The truth is, we don't need people with years of animal experience—we need people with kind hearts and a willingness to learn. Whether you can give one morning, one evening, or just a few hours a month, your time can make a tremendous difference. Walking a dog, cuddling a shy cat, folding laundry, washing food bowls, or helping clean gives our regular volunteers a chance to catch their breath while improving the lives of the animals in our care.

Every volunteer hour means more attention for our dogs, more playtime for our kittens, cleaner living spaces, and healthier, happier animals while they wait for their forever homes.

We are building something special for San Saba County, but we can't do it alone. This rescue belongs to our community, and now we need our community to help us get across the finish line.

If you've ever thought about volunteering, there has never been a more important time. Even a few hours each month can change an animal's life.
