San Saba Lodge to meet Saturday

On Saturday, December 4th, San Saba Masonic Lodge will hold its regular stated meeting. A meal of Taco Soup provided by Earnest Roy Jones will be served. Also, Masons and Mason’s helpers are reminded to provide their community service reports for November. Lodge will open at 7:00 p.m.

Members are reminded that the 2022 dues are now being collected. Service awards for 2022 will be discussed as well as the upcoming Grand Lodge communication.

A memorial service will be held for the passing of Benton W. Miller, Sr. Brother Miller was born June 10th, 1925, in San Saba County, Texas. He was made an EA 8-5-1976, FC 9-30-1976 & MM 10-7-1976 in New River Lodge No. 402 at Gonzales, Louisiana. He was affiliated with San Saba Lodge No. 612 in 1984, the former Richland Springs Lodge No. 882 in 1998, and Goldthwaite Lodge No. 694 in 2014.

Brother Miller served in every chair and was the Worshipful Master of San Saba Lodge 1996 and Richland Springs Lodge in 2005.

In 2002, Benton served as District Deputy Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of Texas. In that same year, he was presented the Golden Trowel Award by San Saba Lodge, the highest honor any lodge can bestow to a member. He served the Craft for over 45 years, and was active in the Shrine and the Scottish Rite.

This will be the last meeting of the calendar year. San Saba Lodge will not meet in January as Grand Lodge will hold its annual communication that month in Waco.
