Another crazy week and October will be in the history books. Praise the Lord we had a good soaking rain. My area had around 1.7 inches with a little hail to boot. My Tracy is still in the hospital and facing a long rehab period. Hopefully, when they are all done with her, she will be in better health even if she is missing five toes.
Friday's home game was cut short by the incoming storm. Since the score was well past the 45-mercy rule, they declared a win by the Coyotes, and everyone scrambled for shelter. Although there was a Fifth Quarter following the game, very few people chose to attend. Some food was frozen for future use, and the rest was given away. There is a home game this coming Friday, but since it's Halloween, there will be no Fifth Quarter.
I had the privilege of doing the books for the Varsity volleyball game on Saturday. I apologized to Jessica before she could see the books because those books are not easy to do.
I did manage to keep a good running score, but all the little symbols and letters took a few games to master. I didn't realize this was their final game. This was emotional for the senior girls since it was against their former coach and teammates. My heart broke for those girls. I'm proud to say our girls played a great game using their strong hearts to hold their own. Jessica may have to repair my marks if any of them want to see the game book. I promise to do better if I need to do the stats again.
We have the Fall Festival coming up October 28 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.. This is also Red Ribbon Week. Students will be encouraged to wear their costume on Tuesday to high light 'Say Boo to Bullying,' Wednesday will be pajama day, and students will wear red on 'Say no to Drugs' Thursday. Friday is Coyote blue day. The classes have been working hard to prepare their games, decorate their posters, and make sure all is in readiness for the big event. In addition to this exciting program, students in high school and junior high will be taking six-week exams Tuesday through Thursday. There is also a door decorating contest for Red Ribbon and a pumpkin decorating contest. Both of those events will be judged on the 30th. We like to keep our kids active.
Parents, if your student will be going with the First Baptist Church to the Gospel Rocks Ranch fall day program, you must have registered online with the camp, and your student must bring the insurance waiver with them. The forms can be given to Mrs. Ransom or Mrs. Starr. They will give them to Mrs. Phelan for safe keeping. No student will be allowed to get in the church vans without their insurance waiver. This is a day long treat with games, horseback riding, obstacle races,' hands on' activities and solid Biblical teaching. They will be leaving November the 9th around 8:30 a.m. and returning around 5:30 p.m..
Make Crissy's Plants one of your Halloween candy stops. Once again, they will be hosting a free hot dog meal on Halloween night 5:30- 7:30 p.m.. Everyone in the community is invited. Frankenstein will be waiting for those wanting to do a photo op. This was a safe and inviting stop last year with many parents making this a safe place to bring their trick or treaters.
Please pray for our country, world peace, our government shutdown, our civil unrest, and the safety of our law enforcement officers. Please keep Zeke Hoevers in your prayers, he is heading to California to join the Marines. Most of all, pray for our precious troops and their families. Be watchful for little trick or treaters.
