The Richland Springs Report

All good things must come to an end. I love being in Texas, but it was so nice and cool in Canada. I had a wonderful visit with my sisters and a very short visit with my brother Jim. He’s in an assisted living apartment and a little more difficult to visit. We brought him over to my sister Bev’s house in Vankleek Hill for a super steak dinner. Her husband John cooked a great meal on the barbecue.

Saturday, we fished from the dock, and Dee and I swam while Bev napped on the dock. Bev is not a lake swimmer, but she was our lifeguard. Dog Lake is an extremely deep lake. Should you have problems, it might take time to find you. They have had some hot weather lately, so the water was just perfect.

Our entertainment was a spanking new houseboat with a 300 hp motor and beginner water skiers. Some of you might not find that entertaining, but my sisters are as strange as I am. I was hoping to see my niece perform in a tribal ceremony, but I will miss it by a few days. She is a champion dancer and has represented Canada when Queen Elizabeth came for a visit.

The men’s breakfast hap-pened Saturday, and once again the turnout was excellent. The grand opening for Chrissy’s Plants is the 19th. Don’t forget the Preservation Society Meeting on the 16th.

Prayers are needed for Richard Taylor, Johnny Reeves, Danny Phillips and several others.

Don’t forget the school is supplying all the school supplies for the students again this year. Please check with the school dress code policy before buying clothes.

Lord, please send rain and protect our precious troops and their families. See you soon.
