Ten short days and I will be on my way to Florida and cruising. I’m at the packing stage now. I called it headache time.

Trying to determine which outfit, how many outfits, what activities and how to get it in two small suitcases. I am a minimalist when it comes to packing. I will get it done eventually, but in the meantime, I am giving myself a headache.

Chrissy has a friend down from Dallas who is helping with the garden house clean up. She and I painted on Friday. It looks much better, but I hope no one who paints for a living comes to inspect because they will be disgusted. Her friend Sharon is a talented painter; hopefully, she will repair any mistakes we made.

Both the boys' and girls' basketball teams are in the play-offs. The Lady Coyotes won the area championship against Meridian 36-18. The boys wrapped up the district title with a score of 69-22.

They will face Gustine in the Bi-District game in Brownwood. The game will start at 7:30 p.m. February 20th will be the girls’ regional quarterfinals in Dublin. The tip-off against Gustine will be at 6:00 p.m.

One Act Play traveled to Waxahachie for a performance.

The play they have picked this year is very touching, and Mrs. Locker says the actors are doing a magnificent job. For them to make the state performance, everything from stage settings, lights and actors lines must be perfect. We wish them all the best.

A call went out for volunteers at the baseball park. Nick Taylor says they have need of volunteers to mow, weed, tree trim, concession stand clean up, and fence building. They also need to remove an old backstop and replace it with a new one. They have electrical lines to bury and a new scoreboard to put up. They are welcoming any sponsorships from local citizens for other repairs that need to be made. They have used their grant money for new sidewalks, new dugout construction, and several other needed repairs. Nick’s contact number is 325-456-4006, and will work over the next two to three weeks.

The Baptist Church was glad to have their pastor back in town. Unfortunately, he will have to go back to the border to work, but it was good to see his face and hear his words of wisdom. We are blessed. Mrs. Perry is heading up the Wednesday Kids’ Church program this year. She is a great organizer and really loves younger kids. I much prefer the older kids.

Ginger Skelton is doing well in the nursing home in Brownwood. Her birthday party was a success. Johnny Reeves is fighting the good fight with Lynn by his side. We are praying for complete healing. Donna Hill is doing better with her vision. There are many people on the prayer list that would benefit from our prayers. Please pray for our country, our borders, our President, and the upcoming elections. Most of all pray for our troops and their families.
