Public Meeting on new 765 kV Transmission line

County Judge and Commissioners hosted a Public Information Meeting regarding the 765Kv Transmission Line on April 16, 2026.

The goal of the meeting was to ensure that the County provided accurate and quality information to our effected landowners to help them fight against and protect their properties from the 765Kv transmission lines.

Thanks to our community for the great attendance of approximately 150 individuals who attended the meeting. We had several questions regarding how to intervene, what is 'the best meets' routes proposed by Oncor and LCRA, and what is the timeline for the Public Utility Commission. J. Pete Laney, retained legal consultant for San Saba County, did a great job of presenting the stages of this process from selection of a route to dates for the Public Utility Commission to make their decision to land or easement acquisition.

We all wish that we had the opportunity to redirect the transmission lines to outside of our county, but our hard reality is that all potential route options go directly through our beautiful county. The County will continue to provide information regarding timelines and updates via the Facebook page of County Judge Jody Fauley and to our county website as soon as we can have it updated.
