Pierian Study Club's Entertainment Committee hosts end-of-year prom

The Pierian Study Club met for their end-of-year meeting on May 13th with an “Enchanted Forest Prom” in Hotel San Saba on the 2nd floor. The Entertainment Committee, composed of Patty Shaw, Chairman, Cissy Williams, Karen Henson, Brooke Bagley, Kathy McEwin, Martha Leigh Whitten, Sherry Ruddick, and Kay Stowell were hostesses for the event. Approximately 54 attended, including members and spouses, and/or guests.

The Senior Class had used the room last month for their prom and had offered to leave the decorations for our end-of-year party. Decorations throughout the room looked like a forest with trees, flowers, and a beautiful water fountain. Table centerpieces were round tree rings with ivy and miniature lights.

On display were school annuals from past years, as well as photographs from senior proms. A beautiful red prom dress owned by Patty Cameron Shaw was on display as well.

Before the meal, guests were served an assortment of treats, such as crackers, cheese, nuts, meats, and other delicious hors d’oeuvres, as well as two types of punch. The meal was catered by Bread to Dough Restaurant and featured meat and vegetable lasagna with a Caesar salad and breadsticks. Several varieties of delicious cheesecakes were served for dessert.

Following the meal, dancing was enjoyed by all with a variety of oldie music from the past as well as more modern.

We look forward to the 2021- 2022 year and await the exciting programs the committees will have in store for the club members.
