For the Dove Project, it has been a custom to recognize those Texans who have lost their lives through Intimate Partner violence.

This year, I find in my heart to recognize the heroes who respond to this abuse: Tom Murray of San Saba, Bruce Stewart of San Saba, and Luis Rios of San Saba have moved countless pieces of furniture to new homes of surviving victims. How does that prevent death? Domestic Violence shelters are temporary emergency shelters. When their allotted time at the shelter runs out, victims often return to the very place they needed sanctuary from. Cissy Williams, Shelly Mahan and all the women of the Pierian Study Group of San Saba so generously contribute monetarily to the Dove Project, which in turn, goes directly to assisting victims relocate so that they don't have to return to their fearful, restless, barbaric living situation.

Our City and County Law Enforcement Officers respond daily, sometimes repeatedly, to domestic violence calls.

Our Board of Directors: Our Board members are the stewards of the project. They make hard decisions that affect the progress of the project.

Collectively, these folks have helped desperate situations turn into flourishing lives. These heroes have prevented intimate partner death by their selfless acts of contribution.

Together we are working towards ending intimate partner death.
