Moe 7/8 battles on Lake Buchanan

    MOE 7/8 traveled to Hudson Bend Middle School on Lake Buchanan this past weekend and picked up a second place finish at the 2026 'TWE March Madness' basketball tournament. This was a ten-team tournament field.

    MOE dropped the opening round game to the Liberty Hill Swoosh 46-20, and then rolled by the Llano Crushers 41-30, led by Greenley Jo Moore with 14 points. They then edged out Hoops Dreams Elite 56-54 to finish second in the tournament.

    MOE was led by Jazmin Reyes with 17 points, all in the second half, Greenley Jo Moore with 15 points, and Khloe Martinez with 13 points. Carla Jimenez was outstanding defensively, as always, and Hadly Reid played most of the second half with four (4) fouls.

    Regardless of the outcome, MOE 7/8 has played outstanding basketball despite only carrying five (5) players on the team for the past two (2) tournaments.
