Tommy and Clovia Ketchum traveled to Washington D.C. this past week to attend Agriculture's Promise, a National Young Farmers Educational Forum for the next Generation conference.
A National networking opportunity for individuals interested in fostering opportunities for the Next Generation of Young Beginning Producers and Agribusiness Professionals.
This national conference of young individuals discusses agriculture issues facing the nation, problems in Agriculture across the U.S. was discussed.
We heard from speakers Matt Mika, Vice President of American Horticulture Association; Chuck Penry, Penry and Associates, working with rural electric coops and retired from Tyson Foods; and Allison Rivera with National Cattlemen'sAssociation - Food Safety equals National safety; along with Emily Stone from Agriculture Law and Policy from Alabama.
The group toured The National Capitol, Lincoln Memorial, Korean and Vietnam Memorials, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King and Roosevelt Memorials.
Tommy is currently National President for the National Young Farmers Educational Association. Our next trip will be to Nashville, Tennessee for the National Institute in December.
