'I Love to Fly!'

Jackson Batt, the grandson of longtime San Saba residents, Welton and Arlene Watson, has completed nearly a full year in the prestigious position of Multi-Engine, Instrument Flight Instructor withATP Flight School in Conroe, Texas. A remarkable accomplishment at any age, Jackson's achievement is even more impressive given that he just turned 22 years old this April. He has also just surpassed the significant milestone of logging over 1,000 flight hours. His advanced instructor training allows him not only to train new student pilots, but also to teach and mentor those seeking to become flight instructors themselves.

Jackson is the son of Tim and Becky (Watson) Batt of San Antonio. He graduated from Johnson High School in San Antonio in May of 2022 and quickly progressed in his aviation journey. He first soloed in October 2022 and earned his Private Pilot License in February 2023. He followed this by obtaining his Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certification, Multi-Engine Rating, and Multi-Engine Instrument Instructor qualifications.

At each stage, Jackson successfully completed all the required written, oral, and flight exams administered by FAA-certified flight examiners.

With his role at ATP Flight School, Jackson is helping shape the next generation of aviators. His family and community are proud of his accomplishments and look forward to his continued success in the skies, while he works toward his dream of flying for the airlines. As Jackson puts it, 'I can't believe I picked the perfect career. I love what I do - I love to fly!'
