Hello, my San Saba loves, and how are you? I sure hope you spent the last week getting into less trouble than me. If I didn’t know better I would think I was one of those gremlins that if it gets wet, it turns into a mean terror! Dad gave me a bath, and while I was in my play area, I spent time romping in the sprinkler - so I got a good soaking twice for sure.

I do not mean to cause trouble; I don’t set out to make the parentals angry, make their blood boil or to upset them. Really I don’t. I followed dad into his room, and he shut the door and left me in there by myself. The Charmin on the bathroom floor was just too easy and inviting. Hey, there is not a jury on earth that would convict me of malicious destruction of property on that one. Furthermore, if dad didn’t want that large yellow envelope chewed to bits…why was on it on the floor? Was the room left in carnage? Why, yes, yes it was. But here is the thing…I did not shut myself in there, did not leave things within my reach. And I yelled for help, and no one came to my rescue. So I went a bit crazy…I am entitled!

When dad sits on the couch eating, I go into my begging dramatics. I am telling you I am so spectacular I should be nominated for some kind of award! What bothers me is dad is not impressed, not moved, and in fact, completely ignores my performance! I end up getting loud, having to call his attention to how cute I am being, and then he gets angry and starts yelling at me. And the possibility of a loving exchange of food is ruined! Dad thinks I need training, however, he is the one needing to be set on the right track.

Twice now during our walks in the park I have seen armadillos, once a baby one and another time an adult. What an interesting creature nature invented with those things! They look like a shell with feet, a snout and a claylooking tail! I wanted to stop to ask them questions about their life, but of course dad steered me away from them. I am not quite sure why…they don’t bite. Perhaps dad was afraid they would roll into a ball and I would want to play a rousing game of fetch or something. I hope I see them again so I can at least wave to them.

The armadillos made me think about how exciting life can be, how every day can be an adventure you did not know you were going to be taking. If you keep your eyes and heart opened, the most amazing things can hop right into sight. Surprises do not have to be bought, come in packages, and you need not travel far to find them. I hope you have an amazing week until we speak again. Take care of you, of those you love, and be respectful…thank you for being!
