SUMMER IS COOL By Jazmin Gutierrez-Davila

Summer is cool.

You get to go to the pool. Summer is fun.

You can play with the sun. I want to take a trip to the ocean to see a ship.

When I get back, it well be time for school and 3rd Grade will be super cool.

PAIN IS...

By Shayna Underwood

Pain is only a scar. A memory. A loss of a battle.

Well, at least it's supposed to be. But it's not. Not for me. For me, it's a gash that never heals. Never closes. For me, it's a nightmare that never goes away. Never leaves. For me, it's countless battles lost. Not a single hint of one being won.

For me, pain is death. For me, it's knowing that the one who understood you, the only one, is gone, and never coming back. For me, it's having countless joys and thinking of the one joy that you're forever barred.

For me, pain is comfortable...

It's knowing he's safe.

Knowing that he isn't' suffering.

Knowing he's home. At his real home.
