'Last weekend was a relatively quiet rodeo weekend for San Saba law enforcement officers,' said Sheriff Brantley Barker. There were few rodeo-related calls, he said. One minor accident did happen after the rodeo on Thursday night. A pickup hit a horse ridden by two boys, Michael Cooley and Roger Hamrick, north of the San Saba River bridge near David Gilger's gate. At first it was feared the boys suffered broken legs, but they only sustained bruises. The horse was found at the Edgar Sanderson place the next morning without injuries, Sheriff Barker stated.
