May 2, 1985: THE WALLS CAME TUMBLING DOWN – Over 100 years of history went up in dust last week as the walls of these buildings located on Wallace Street in San Saba came tumbling down. The demolition crew as well as businesses located directly across the street from the demolition site were quite surprised when the structure fell outward instead of inward as planned. The entire block is being razed to make way for a new building which will house the Home Offices of Heart O' Texas Savings Association. The law firm of Senterfitt and Childress will also occupy offices in the building. ––Photo by Juanita Shields
