Announcement has been received of the marriage of Miss Louise Hamrick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Hamrick, to W. M. Pittman, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Pittman of Dublin. The ceremony took place in Fredericksburg.
Joe Beth McKneely, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. McKneely, received a wrist watch from the Walnetto radio contest for writing the best jingle of the week.
Wiley W. Cronk, who joined the U. S. Navy spent a two weeks vacation here with his uncle, Louis Behrens, and also other relatives. He has the distinction to be classed as one of the tallest boys for his twenty years. He stands 6 ft. 5 1/2 in. in his socks. He likes the navy and is learning many things. He is stationed at the Great Lakes.
Public Notice– Our place is near town and we have put up with a good deal rather than keep everybody out, but we are now getting quite tired of having the fixtures around the swimming pool used for targets. So hereafter we are obliged to ask people not to bring any guns near it. If you can't do better than go around smashing bottles and cluttering our place up with broken glass, please don't come around, either. E. G. Risien.
W. G. Kirkpatrick has consolidated the Kirk's Kash Store with his store on Wallace St. This will enable him to give better service than to operate the business from two places. Kirkpatrick has a good meat market in connection with his grocery business.
The ninety-sixth anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto finds Sion R. Bostick, who was one of the five men to personally capture Santa Anna, the Mexican general, and bring him in to the bedside of the wounded Gen. Sam Houston, buried him in a practically unmarked grave. A great grandson of Bostick, long-time hotel operator here and a former San Saba high school student, Patrick True, is carrying on the fighting spirit of the old Texan. After finishing school in Fort Worth, he went to San Diego where he enlisted in the Navy.

A total of 23 girls participated in tryouts for the 1983-84 San Saba High School drill team. Those who will wear Dilloette uniforms next year are Debbie Watson, Beth Johnson, Blanca Esquivel, Tina Reyes, Michelle Prater, Tonya Davis, Pam Kirkpatrick, Susan Barrier, Cindy Cantu, Melinda Walker, Leonila Jimenez, Karen Shivener, Kristi Sumpter, Cathy Van Cleave, Sonya Reyes and Audra Crockett.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Collier of San Saba have announced the birth of a son, Brandon Shane, born April 13 in Brownwood Regional Hospital. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces.
Arnulfo Cisneroz, Tarleton State University student from San Saba, has been inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, national freshman scholastic society. Cisneroz is the son of Lupe and Sulema Cisneroz and is a medical technology major. He graduated from San Saba High School in 1982.
Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Lemons of San Angelo spent last week with his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lemons. They did some fishing at the Spicewood Camp.
Mrs. Kay Capshaw of San Saba and James Wilson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, have announced the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Lisa Wilson, to Steve Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Martin of San Saba.
