Letter to the Editor: Dear Editor, In lieu of what is happening in San Saba, we do not need another 500 bed prison in the town of San Saba. The City Mayor, Council, City Manager, Judge and Commissioners need to work together and bring business in here that will bring more economic growth that way. Do all the prisoners eat at the Cactus, Poor Boys or Dairy Mart or Dairy Queen? No they don't, do they. Do all of them buy gasoline, Lone Star Gas, groceries at all the grocery stores? No, you be the judge. If our criminal justice would make it a stiffer penalty for the crimes they commit some of these plain mean people will stop and think about what they are doing and not be so quick to do things knowing what lies ahead for them. Now I am for economic growth and population growth for San Saba, but not to have a 500 bed prison here that will raise our taxes to where no one can pay them. There will be a few nice people come in, but there will be more hoodlums come in and cause more problems than good. A concerned citizen, Mary Webb.
