Among the funny stories being told by the hunter who got their buck, Eddie Ragsdale perhaps tells the best one. He was hunting somewhere on Rough Creek and as he was watching some does and fawns, a buck slipped up behind him within 30 feet, and Eddie felt that he had to shoot in self defense. But he got the buck, which had 5 points.

Havoc was wrought by dogs which attacked a roost of fine turkeys belonging to R. P. Terry of Richland Springs recently. The roost was built in the middle of a field of feedstuff, and as the turkeys scatered, the dogs killed them for several hundred yards from the roost. This one night of depredation cost 112 fowls and several more were injured. The same night the turkeys were killed, another pack of dogs killed 15 ewes belonging to Mr. Beakley in the Post Oak Grove community. Consequently, a petition has been passed by Mr. Terry and Willie Moore of San Saba for an election to require the registration of all dogs of San Saba County. This plan would insure a dog owner who has good dogs protection, and iat the same time it would cause extermination of loose dogs. The law would require muzzling of dogs which run loose at night. Animals not tagged will be killed. Registered dogs running loose without muzzles when unattended, will lay their owners liable to a $100 fine. Mc-Culloch County now has such a dog license law in effect.
