Ben L. Broyles made touchdown runs of 75 yds., 21 yds., 38 yds., 80 yds., 34 yds., and 43 yds. to lead the Indians in a 47-6 victory over Liberty Hill, their fourth straight win of the year.
Mrs. W. E. Bryant is now employed by the Flower Shop, owned and operated by Mrs. Lillian Yates and Mrs. Lum Hayden.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Munsell Jr. and children of Houston visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Bryant.
Striking early in the first period, San Saba's Armadillos chalked up their first District 22-A victory of the 1950 season by downing Marble Falls 27 to 0 here Friday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Willie Hillman of the Spring Creek community, who are moving to Goldthwaite soon, entertained their friends Saturday night with a 42 party.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roberts are visiting in Brownsville with their daughter, Mrs. Whitney.
Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Locker of Pecos visited here with friends and relatives the past week.
Bobby Dean Wood, who is studying business administration at the Texas University, has been accepted for enrollment in the University of Texas Naval ROTC unit.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dodds were recent visitors in Junction with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barker.
Guests in the Jim King and Tom King homes were their brother-in-law, John Ford of California and Mrs. Marshall Self of Fredericksburg.
Dr. J. R. Saunders has leased his interest in The Animal Hospital to his partner, Dr. W. R. Benson, and will leave Nov. 1 for the University of Georgia where he will teach veterinary surgery and continue work toward his masters degree in veterinary medicine. Dr. Saunders established the Animal Hospital and set up general practice of veterinary medicine here in 1947. He is a graduate of Texas A&M College.
Mrs. Dorothy Harkey is working at Hopper & Walkers. She began her duties there Monday.

Mrs. Emmitt J. Alderman of Comanche, former San Saba resident, won first place in the advanced class of china painting on two entries at the State Fair in Dallas last week. She won second place on two, having entered four. Also, in crockery painting she placed second with a pitcher and had two entries in designers division, winning second on each, one a seed pearl box and the other a hand crafted purse.
Mrs. Laura Haynes was honored on her 94th birthday Oct. 6 in the San Saba Nursing Home. Five generations of her family were represented and enjoyed the birthday cake with 94 candles, and a picture-taking session.
A set of twins was born at San Saba Memorial Hospital from Oct. 5 to Oct. 12. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Shannon are the parents of Ronald, five pounds, five and one-half ounces, and Donald, five pounds, ten ounces, born Oct. 5
Pvt. Edward Eugene Vaughn, Co. A, 2nd BN. 1st BCT. BDE., is stationed at the U.S. Army Training Center, Ft. Ord, Calif. The son of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Vaughn, Pvt. Vaughn graduated from San Saba High School in 1970. He entered service Sept. 2, and will complete his basic training in November.
Kerry Lively, San Saba 4-H member, and his Reserve Champion Angus Heifer won the honor at the Heart 'O Texas Fair in Waco last week. His heifer, a one-year-old, was bred by Bennie Lively. Other local 4-H winners included Hardy Stewardson, first place Junior yearling Angus Heifer; James Stewardson, second in the same class. Hardy Stewardson also placed third in the summer yearling Angus heifer class and third in the heavy Angus steer class. James Stewardson placed fifth in the same class. Lively exhibited his Shorthorn steer to third place and placed 11th in the light Hereford steer class.
The Spanish 1 Club in San Saba High School elected their officers. They are Larry Edgerton, reporter; Richard Johnson, music director; Beatrice Paradez, secretary; Mike Granados, president; Mark Geldmeier, program chairman; Juanita Martinez, vice-president; and Mike Reeves, game director.
