110 Years Ago March 18, 1915

Joe A. Williams returned from a brief visit with Dr. J. J. Taylor and family at Richland Springs. Little Misses Lois Burleson and Elizabeth Hopkins returned home with him for a visit.

T. C. Henry spent a few days at Richland Springs looking after his dry goods interests there and reports everything flourishing in the little city and is well pleased with how the business manager J. H. Kavanaugh is doing. In other words he says John is O.K.

Joe Clark left for west Texas points, traveling with the Universal Feature Film Company.

Ira W. Hall came down from Brownwood for his car that he left here during the bad weather.

Biggs & Clark have received and placed in the vestibule at their gents furnishing store a handsome out door case for displaying novelty goods. The base is of marble with plate glass top and with the large electric light immediately over the case indeed presents a striking appearance. The enterprising firm has received many compliments upon its efforts to always keep ahead.

40 Years Ago March 21, 1985

Chelci Lewis, 16- month old daughter of Jody and Kim Lewis of Richland Springs, was named first alternate in the Beautiful Baby Division in the Darry-Kids of America Pageant in Brownwood. Sponsored by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Mask, Chelci will be going to the Grand Finale 1985 in Dallas.

The San Saba High School tennis team qualified for State Competition by finishing in 4th place in the South Regional Team Tournament for class 3A and Under at Marble Falls.

Norman and Idell Hardman and Ada Stuard, of San Angelo, came to Regency. Idell and Ada spent the day and Norman went to Spring Creek to see Dusty Sealy as he wanted to get some pecan trees put out, so he made a deal with Dusty to put them out.

The San Saba Boys Golf team placed 4th in the Bluebonnet Golf tournament at the Brownwood Country Club. The team shot a 369-364-733. The Brownwood Lions won the tournament with a 299-307-606. Competing for the Dillos were Marcus Riggs, Cody Sanderson, Richard Block, Ben Hayes and Deryl Hoyt.

Jerry A. Wells and wife Fern are faithful customers who have bought 108 cars from Golding Motors over the years. The Wells’ live in San Antonio, Texas and drive to San Saba, Tx for all their service, even to have the oil changed. Wells was raised in the Richland Springs area and his mother, Mrs. Sarah Willborn, still lives in Richland Springs, Tx.
